The photo competition of International Talent Support is now in its fifth year and is becoming an important observatory to find talented, creative and highly prepared young photographers, able to shoot images that can easily find their place in the most important lifestyle and photography magazines.
The competition is organised in partnership with MINI, a brand that represents design and uniqueness. MINI is very active in promoting the freshest and highest expressions of creativity.
Contestants will be asked to produce a series of images on the theme “Originality”.
10 to 15 finalists will be selected from some of the most important photography schools on the planet and will come to Trieste, Italy on 9-11 July 2009 for the finals. Their photos will be displayed in a dedicated exhibition in the ITS#EIGHT location and viewed by all the guests of the event: international press, opinion leaders, professional photographers and many more. A renowned Photography Critic will be the artistic director and curator of the exhibition.
With the launch of the new edition of ITS comes the opening of enrolment in the photography competition. The deadline to enrol is 25 March 2009. In April the Preselections take place (20 and/or 21) and the finalists are selected. The ITS#PHOTO finals will be in July 2009.
ITS is a chance to meet professionals in the field. It gives amazing coverage and allows the young photographers to showcase their work in front of the most important international press, opinion leaders and professionals from the world of photography. It is the opportunity to build important connections for the future and work for important magazines and companies. The pictures could end up in editorials in magazines like GQ or V-Mag, or finalists could even work with these magazines directly on projects, like last year’s winner Kazutaka Nagashima who had the chance to work side by side with iconic photographer Sarah Moon. But that’s not all. The photos of the trip were showcased in an exhibition in Milan and will be published in GQ Magazine with a dedicated article. Being selected as a finalist means you have already won, because we continue to support our finalists’ careers and help them out for as long as we exist.
Prizes up for grabs are: the MINI Clubman Photo Award, €10.000 + a special project together with an internationally renowned photographer soon to be announced. School of Visual Arts is offering the SVA PhotoGlobal Award: the winner receives a scholarship to the one-year intensive PhotoGlobal photography course at School of Visual Arts in New York City. Pitti Immagine is offering the Pitti Immagine Photo Award: 2 winners will have the chance to create the advertising campaigns for the Womenswear Fairs that Pitti organises in Milan.
